North London District

Welcomes over 250 New Members

During 2004 and 2005 over 250 members have joined the Oddfellows in North London following mail shots

To welcome these new members, special events were held.

The first, at Duchess House, home of the Duchess of Kent Lodge, was a Cheese and Wine Competition held on the afternoon of 22nd November 2004.

22 new members and their guests had an enjoyable afternoon guessing the origin of a few wines and cheeses and the watchful eye of Leo Zanelli who arranged the competition.

Keith Potter, secretary of the Duchess of Kent Lodge welcomed everyone to the event and told them about membership and what Oddfellowship was about. Olna Manyan, the Provincial Deputy Grand Master (Deputy District Chairman) , spoke about some of the benefits available to members.

Nigel Stock from Unity Office in Manchester was present and he had arranged all the printing and publicity for the event
