Canary Wharf estate and the Isle of Dogs

Ten members from North and South London Districts join Keith Potter for a leisurely stroll on the Isle of Dogs.

Setting off from the Canary Wharf Jubilee Line station, the group wandered through the Canary Wharf estate looking at the diverse architecture and sculpture.

Museum of London Docklands

They went past the Museum of London Docklands housed in one of a series of early nineteenth century warehouses. Admission is now free.

Soon the group joined part of the Thames Walk a National Trail running from the source of the river to the Thames Barrier.

After a three mile stroll we stopped for lunch at Island Gardens, overlooking the Thames with views across to Greenwich.

Some of the group then went home but a few continued with Keith via the Mudchute City Farm back to Canary Wharf.

As part of the Unity inspired 2010 Friendship Walk, the group added 41 miles to the total.
